PhD Students

Faruk Aksoy

Faruk is a graduate of Yeditepe University with a double major degree in Biomedical Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He has joined  Yeşilöz Research Group as a Ph.D. student under the Material Science and Nanotechnology program.

He will be working on BioMEMS, Micro and Nanostructured Sensors and Biosensing applications as well as Micro/Nanofluidic devices. He aims to utilize the skills and
knowledge he has gained from his previous studies and apply it at the micro-scale level and go further with nanotechnology.

In his leisure time, he likes to play football, listen to music and go for a walk in the woods.

Master’s Students

Eylul Tabel

Eylül is a graduate of Koç University, Molecular Biology and Genetics department. After an internship at Neurodegeneration Research Laboratory at KUTTAM, she joined Yeşilöz Lab to study 3D cell culturing. Her research focuses on growing specialized cells and planting them effectively to organ-on-chips. Apart from academia, she likes practicing the piano, drawing and painting, as well as petting the animals she can’t get to own.

Robab Jahangir

Robab is a graduate in Physics from University of Gujrat, Pakistan. She has joined Material Science and Nanotechnology Center for a Master’s program with Yesiloz Research Group to learn and work in the Lab on a chip & Microfluidic systems.

Her research interest includes designing of microfluidic devices to be used for the drug testing and screening of biological samples. As an international student she is eager to learn new techniques and incorporate them in Applied Research. Despite academics, she loves travelling, learning a new language & a different culture and making friends.

Aslı Gizem Çınar

Aslı is a Biomedical Engineering graduate from TOBB University of Economics and Technology. After completing a long term internship at Yeşilöz Research Group, she is continuing as a Master’s student.

She aims to gain experience in areas where microfluidics and biology meets to create platforms for biological and chemical research.

Other than being a science enthusiast, she likes reading dystopian science fiction novels, spending hours in archeology museums and occasionally baking. Also, lately she is quite busy with her kitten, Ollie.

Undergraduate Students

Safa Mintaş

Safa is a Material Science and Nanotechnology junior student at TOBB University of Economics and Technology, and currently is an intern at Yeşilöz Research Group.

After graduation, he aims to focus on areas such as microfluidic systems and lab-on-a-chip platforms.

Except for academia, he likes sports such as basketball, badminton, tennis and loves spending time in the kitchen, trying out new recipes.

Aybala Topçu

Aybala is a Material Science and Nanotechnology Engineering senior student at TOBB University of Economics and Technology, and currently is an intern at Yeşilöz Research Group.

After graduation, she aims to focus on microfluidic systems, plasmonic gas sensing and
computational materials science.

Apart from the academia she likes travelling, boxing and likes to observe new tastes.

Erkin Köseoğlu

Erkin is a Material Science and Nanotechnology Engineering senior student at TOBB University of Economics and Technology, and currently is a trainee at Yeşilöz Lab. After graduation, he aims to further his studies in areas such as computational material science, nano-material synthesis via wet chemistry, and hydrogen generation via catalytic and photocatalytic processes. Apart from scientific studies, he also likes produce house & deep-house music, watching scientific documentaries, and cooking.
